The Mason County Sheriff’s Office took a man into custody after he barricaded himself in a home near Spencer Lake Sunday. The incident began about 12:30 PM in the 100 to 200 block of E Spencer Glenn. The suspect, who had warrants out for his arrest, barricaded himself in the home and would not respond to deputies. The SWAT team was called in but the suspect still refused to respond to additional request for him to come out.
During this time, neighbors were asked to stay in their homes. After about three and a half hours, the suspect surrendered peacefully and was taken into custody without further incident. He was checked out by medics and then taken to Mason County Jail. His name has not been released. More information is expected Monday.
