A Shelton man was flown to a Seattle hospital after a two-vehicle crash on Highway 3 at the intersection with Agate Road Tuesday morning.

According to the Washington State Patrol, a car turned left from Agate Road onto SR-3 and was struck by a van in the northbound lane of the highway about 6 AM.

The driver of the car, a 24-year-old Shelton man, was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
The two people in the van, a 48-year-old Shelton man and a 43-year-old Shelton woman, were not injured.

A press memo indicates that the cause of this crash was failure to yield right of way on the part of the driver of the car.

Both vehicles were totaled.
